Bike Register Campaign
In response to a huge spike in bicycle thefts over the last 12 months Crime Reduction Officers in North East Division are running a series of bicycle security events across communities in Grampian this summer.
As part of the campaign Police Scotland would like to give school age children, initially Academy age, in the region the opportunity to have their bikes added to the Police approved BikeRegister scheme. By simply adding owner and bike details to an onlline database it makes it much easier for bikes to be returned to their owners if stolen.
The cycle owner is notified by email with details of how to access their account. Once logged in, they can check the details on the account are correct and then print out a log book. You can also print off the A6 flyer so the cycle owner has details of the frame number and the BikeRegister website.
