The North East is preparing to host the final stage of the 2021 Tour of Britain professional cycle race https://www.tourofbritain.co.uk/race/2021-tour/ .
The exact route will be announced in the next few weeks and it is expected it to pass close to or through your community. Our stage will be on Sunday 12th September and the race will depart from Stonehaven at 10am. A rolling road closure will mean some disruption is likely on the day and we will publicise this for businesses and residents.
The event brings with it a lot of media attention and some of the best athletes in the world. There will be live tv coverage of the whole stage and a popular evening highlights show. As coronavirus restrictions ease you may wish to consider organising something around the event which will bring your communities together and showcase your village or town to a global audience.
