South Aberdeenshire Public Health Newsletter
The South Aberdeenshire Public Health Team is excited to announce that they will soon be sending out their first Newsletter. They will be sharing information about the team, public health news, events, courses, and health campaigns happening in your area.

Outdoor Community Play Fund
The Outdoor Community Play Fund for 2021-22 is now open. This year it has an added focus on supporting parents and facilitating family play.
Charities can seek to work with children and their families to encourage them to play and learn together, help to improve attachments, strengthen bonds and parental confidence in supporting their children’s play. Amidst the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic, outdoor play is recognised as being increasingly vital, for parents and children alike.
The closing date is midday on Monday 26th April.

Creative Breaks
The Creative Breaks programme provides 12-month grants to third sector organisations to develop and deliver short breaks projects and services for carers of adults (aged 21 years and over), and young carers (caring for children or adults), and the people that they care for.
The current deadline is 5pm on 20th May 2021.

Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport Course
The Child Wellbeing and Protection in Sport course is for coaches and sports volunteers.
It is the recognised course for safeguarding training in sport and has been developed and certificated by SportScotland and Children 1st. The training will provide you with the knowledge on child wellbeing and protection that will give you the confidence to deal with issues that may arise in your role working with children. It is a blended learning course made up of two modules:
- (Module 1), this is a precourse online module, details will be emailed to participants ahead of the course
- (Module 2) followed by a 3-hour face-to-face or virtual course
The course will be held on Tuesday 20th April 2021.

Youth Volunteering Guidelines
The Scottish Government have published a set of guidelines to help the third sector, community groups and partners in the public and private sector offer practical and effective volunteering opportunities to young people.

Aberdeenshire Holiday Programmes
Aberdeenshire Council is seeking the views of children, young people and parents to inform the creation of holiday activity programmes for children and young people in Aberdeenshire during the Summer and October holidays. Programmes will be developed to support the social and wellbeing needs of children and young people. This is being led by the Community, Learning and Development team and the survey will take just a few minutes to complete.
