The NKRCC have been approached by Infrastructure Services of Aberdeenshire Council to assist with New Street Names for the Blairs Village.
I have attached a layout of the development for which 5 additional street names are required to allow addresses to be allocated.
Suggestions from Aberdeenshire Council include Blairs Avenue, Kiln Rise, Blairs Gardens, Ardoe Drive and Shanna Walk. These have been selected due to the development being close to Blairs College and nearby burns.
The NKRCC discussed these suggestions briefly at our last virtual monthly meeting and it was agreed that we would respond suggesting “Ardoe” should be discarded as this is already an established area within Banchory Devenick and wouldn’t want posties & delivery drivers confused.
Perhaps the theme of Blairs could be continued? Blairs Avenue, Blairs Gardens and follow the theme with Crescent, Drive etc.,
Or the street names could include references to Blairs Museum? e.g Heritage Avenue, Chapel Drive, College Crescent etc.,
We really are very keen to hear your thoughts on the above and gather new suggestions from the residents of NKRCC.
