Adapt and Thrive Fund
On 24 February, the Scottish Government confirmed additional investment for the Community and Third Sector Recovery Programme, which will allow Adapt and Thrive to continue to support the sector until the 21st of June 2021.
Adapt and Thrive offers a combination of advice and funding to support organisations to reflect on their current services and determine which areas need to change, flex, innovate, or grow to be resilient and successful during and post COVID-19. The programme has already distributed over £6.1m funding amongst 250 organisations and provided advice to many more.
Adapt and Thrive advisors challenge organisations to create recovery plans that are fit for the future, whilst providing hands-on, practical support to help them achieve this. Funding of up to £75,000 is available to put these plans in motion and is unrestricted so it can flex and adapt around the needs of the organisation. With an end to restrictions now in sight, now is the perfect time to apply to Adapt and Thrive!

The Edward Gostling Foundation
The Edward Gostling Foundation believe that people living with a physical and/or mental disability,or a long-term illness, should have as many of the same choices, quality of life opportunities and aspirations as others more fortunate than themselves. They operate two grant programmes for charities that work in this sector and more information can be found here.
Charity Meetings and Covid-19 Restrictions
In September, there was a law passed as the Corporate Insolvency and Governance Act 2020, which allowed SCIOs and companies to have meetings virtually, even when their governing document had no such provision.
OSCR advised these allowances had been extended until 31st March 2021 but will not be extended beyond that.
This may well mean you need to consider changing your constitution to specifically detail how you will allow virtual meetings to continue.
You will need to go through your own governing document or constitution – we’re happy to help – and make the changes according to your constitution, and then let OSCR know. For most organisations, it is a small addition of a word here and there to add in virtual capability for meetings.

Equality and Human Rights Fund
The Equality and Human Rights Fund is a new programme that supports organisations that deliver work focussed on tackling inequality and discrimination, furthering equality, and advancing the realisation of human rights in Scotland.
The Fund will distribute up to £7 million annually for three years from October 2021 to September 2024.
Managed by Inspiring Scotland, the programme is an evolution of previous Scottish Government funding streams including the Promoting Equality and Cohesion Fund (PECF) and Scottish Government funding for national partners.
Applications open on Monday 22 February 2021 and the deadline is noon on Friday 14 May 2021.

Women in the Rural Economy Training Fund
The Scottish Government’s Women in the Rural Economy Training Fund, alongside the Women in Agriculture Practical Training Fund, has been created to give women in Rural Scotland more opportunities for land-based and aquaculture training.
This will help address the current gender imbalance within a range of industries, including Aquaculture, Conservation, Fisheries, Forestry, Horticulture, Land-based engineering and Wildlife management, amongst others.
It is open to any woman resident in Scotland who is either already working in or studying in the sector, full-time or part-time, or who is keen to start work in this area. You need to be able to demonstrate how the training course will support the development of your business or employment options. 100% of the funding for training, up to the value of £500, can be awarded per course. However, applications for training over the value of £500 will still be accepted and will be assessed depending on the value to the individual or business.

Morrisons Foundation
The Morrisons Foundation awards grant funding for charity projects which make a positive difference in local communities. In the main grants are available to fully fund projects up to £25,000.

Newly Self-Employed Hardship Fund
The Newly Self-Employed Hardship Fund offers a one-off £4,000 payment for those whose status as being newly self-employed makes them ineligible for the UK Government’s Coronavirus Self-employment Income Support Scheme.
The deadline for applications is 5pm on the 16th of March.

The Educational Psychology Service has developed leaflets on key topics which contain tips and advice for parents and carers. The topics selected aim to help build resilience, connection, and secure attachment.
