I am pleased to advise you that the Council is again offering community organisations plants for planting schemes for 2022. This is subject to the communities planting and maintaining the plants during the season.
In order to determine the amount of plants to order for next year, communities that wish to take advantage of this opportunity should contact Neil West, Landscape Services Officer, Unit 21/22 Spurryhillock Industrial Estate, Stonehaven, AB39 2NH Tel: 01467 537673 Email: neil.west@aberdeenshire.gov.uk as soon as possible and no later than 8 October 2021 with their requests.
It is envisaged that the amount of plants allocated to each community will be the same as last year, however, if you think your requirements exceed this amount please make contact with Neil West to discuss. Please bear in mind Aberdeenshire Council are moving towards more use of herbaceous and wildflower plugs and seed in beds, baskets and tubs and this will affect the future maximum number of plants offered.
I enclose a request form which details the varieties of plants that may be available next year. Please complete the form and forward to Neil West. It is important that you submit your request by the due date. Please be aware that we cannot guarantee that all varieties of plants requested will be available.
The improvement to many villages and communities since this scheme began is immense, all due to the effort, time and care that your community has devoted to making your area a better and brighter place.
Please Note. You are requested to collect plants from the local depot in your area, arrangements will be confirmed by Neil West at the appropriate time.
